Wilson’s Promontory is 44 kilometres from Meeniyan via Fish Creek and is arguably the most popular national park in Victoria with walks to suit all levels of fitness.
Tarra Bulga National Park is 99 kilometres from Meeniyan via Yarram. The park is just off the Grand Ridge Road in the Strezlecki Ranges and features stunning rainforest and fern gullies with a variety of walks to choose from. On the way a short detour takes you to the Agnes Falls near Toora. At 59 metres the Agnes Falls are the highest single span falls in Victoria. The historic Port Albert is also a short detour well worth a visit with views towards Wilson’s Promontory and a great fish and chip shop on the Jetty. Port Albert is 72 Kilometres from Meeniyan on your way to Yarram and the drive is well worth it just for the fish and chips alone.
Phillip Island is 68 kilometres from Meeniyan via Wonthaggi and San Remo. Home to the Penguin Parade at dusk each evening and the koalas. Phillip Island is a tourist mecca with a myriad of activities and attractions to suit everyone.
Venus Bay is 29 kilometres from Meeniyan via Lower Tarwin and has a patrolled surf beach in summer.
Inverloch is 32 kilometres from Meeniyan via Koonwarra and has a patrolled surf beach and a great beach for younger children fronting Anderson’s Inlet. A further 10 kilometres from Inverloch along a scenic coast road with views over Bass Strait towards Venus Bay and Cape Liptrap, brings you to Cape Patterson, an iconic surfing spot in South Gippsland.
In South Gippsland you will always find a farmer's market nearby, as they are held every weekend during any month. These markets provide a great variety of locally grown produce, fresh meat, seafood, wine and an extensive range of dairy products.
